Pros

1 free pair a year Contests to get a pair of shoes for $10 4% match to 401k

Cons

Pay! We were issued a 15% pay cut in March. We lost most of our bonus'. No more KPI kickers. Personally, with the new pay structure I will lose 8,000 to 10,000 in pay. Now Assistant Managers are hourly vs base + commission. They are trying to make every single position PT execpt for Store Manager. So if your AM or FT Team Lead quits, you will not be able to replace them. While pay was cut, they expect more work to be completed with a person being in the store less. AM now work 40 hour weeks vs 45. And if you get near 40 hours (they really want you at 38.5) you will get reprimanded! The new hourly rates promised a better work/life balance. That is a total lie. They said management would get one weekend off a month. Well, so far, for myself at least, it has not happened. No weekend off since the new pay plan came out. Requested one for May (requested back in March) was denied. Requested one for August (requested in March), was told to not make plans too far ahead since they dont have sales goals for that month. WE ARE IN THE MONTH OF APRIL AND STILL DO NOT HAVE OUR YEARLY GOALS. We only recieved ths sale numbers for May a week ago. It feels like I am going to fight someone, but one arm is tied behind my back. Incentives are paid based on your Sales Per Hour (SPH). This makes it impossible to hire new people and get them trained, because if you are under your SPH goal, you lose out on a lot of money. For some people its a whole extra paycheck at the end of the month. Corporate is so focused on margains yet run Buy 1 Get 1 for $20 or 50% disconnected shoes. If you margins suck, yet you are running the sale they tell you to. Some how, it's some how your fault. Favor part is, they are emailing out $20 off $100 or more coupons. So we pretty much give that second pair away for free.

Pros

Free pair of shoes, opportunities to advance

Cons

Major pay changes - cutting full-time employees about 15% yearly wages, removing bonuses and incentives, assistant management changed from salary to hourly position. Expects store managers to work more then 60 hours a week so they can cut part time hours and have the store managers pick up the slack for less pay.
