Pros

Worked with some great people and gained great experience of how to deal with people. Discounted shoes were great too

Cons

New upper management have no clue about this company's heritage or how to treat their employees. Cutting people's pay and always expecting more and more don't go well together. There has been a large exodus of good people recently at store level leaving stores stretched There are many store closures planned for 2017/18 and the Americas business is not sound No progression will happen here unless you're part of the "clique" that has grown recently Training is nonexistent and the entire training team were just laid off Expect to be thrown in the deep end and sink or swim

Pros

Discount- free shoes. That's about it! You can run your own business and be left alone! Upper mgt never calls

Cons

Low pay! They just did pay cuts for the management team in entire company. This company isn't a good one. 15% less pay and expect you to work 44 hours!

Pros

Many of the lower level employees and managers are great people who are talented, friendly, and welcoming. There are half day Fridays in the summers which is a nice early kickoff to the weekend.

Cons

A dismally run business. Upper management has continued to make poor decisions for years now, and somehow still seem to be confused as to why the business is doing so poorly. There are layoffs on a regular basis with no new hires. As a result, the majority of people in this office now work jobs that would normally be handled buy a full team in other companies. Even with so many responsibilities, everyone still lives in constant fear that they will be the next one to get laid off. There is zero sense of job security, and zero encouragement from upper management. They say, "Just stick with us during this rough patch, there are great things right around the corner." They've been saying this for over 5 years- that's quite a rough patch. Less than a decade ago, Clarks regularly won awards for Best Places to Work in Boston. People stayed there their entire careers. Now the only ones who are left are new hires who quickly realize their mistake and a those who have yet to find something new.
