It helps scholars get grades up

Cons

The school works these children to hard also leading with very high expectations with these teachers being disrespectful to the students and teachers . The school doesn’t give these students their rights to freedom or independence . The school is also an outcast to many other schools and doesn’t give the students the right to express their rightful feelings. Why don’t all the teachers in this school at least make a change not only for students but for everyone’s sake

The scholars are great and eager to learn The teachers care a lot but are trained to control and micromanage scholars

Cons

1 or 2 people in the management are not possible to work with, bullyish, disrespectful, and unprofessional. This is a very insecure school with no future.

Structure and High Expectations for Scholars

Pros

Outcomes oriented: one of the highest performing schools in the state--making a real, measurable, life-changing difference for students in the South Bronx. Students at Classical have a fundamentally different set of opportunities than their peer because of the strength of their education, and it's great to be a part of that every day. Phenomenal teacher development--a rigorous curriculum, intensive coaching (2x per week) with a growth mindset. Perfect place to start a teaching career.

Cons

Rigid structure for students and adults; the system works very well so there isn't much room for innovation. Leadership is stretched too thin due to growth. Like most mission-driven work, the work is hard and the hours are long.
