Pros

Clayton Homes is a great company to work for. They have updated their retail schedule to be open 9-5 during the winter. The rest of the year you work 9-6. Some managers will let you work 8-4 or 10-6 too. Pay is great, but you do have to put in the extra effort to make 6 figures.

Cons

The home center that you work for is very important. Some managers have a very old school approach to their business. A home center manager could hold you back from job opportunities to make sure you stay at your store to keep making him/her money.

Pros

Great salary plus commissions. Great benefits. Great training.

Cons

No advancement. Greedy managers. Morally corrupt on contracting with customers. Management not held responsible for fixing problems. Management ignores follow-up and is gone a lot of the time.

Pros

Great health and dental insurance

Cons

You are nothing at that company unless you are a general manager or above. They claim great things and great pay as a sales consultant. You only get a portion of what your managers potion is. It ends up being only around $2k per home and your manager brings home about 10k and sales does ALL the work. You typically cannot leave for lunch because of coverage, so you eat between clients, but you have to write that you actually took a lunch on your time card. I was there a year and my co worker and I only averaged 2-4 homes per year in our area because things took so long to get projects finished. They hire general managers spouses, so it makes the work environment extremely weird! The training is wonderful, but the actual individual offices are ran terribly. They pick and choose who they want to work with as far as clients, they will base it off cars that pull up and judge. The houses are currently the same price when all is said and done as a site built home, with much less quality. They take advantage of hard sales workers because it makes them money!
