Sad to see this company going down the drain

Pros

For some people, a pro would be the beautiful, amenity-filled office space if you are a person who likes to work in an open environment office

Cons

I am sorry to say that I have to share a bleak and sorrowful review of a company that was once admirable, Clearlink. It is hard to believe that the organization I once adored is now a dismal, lifeless shell of its former self. The company's values, Create Community, Learn & Grow, Embrace Opportunity, Act Like an Owner, and Respect Every Person, have been thrown away, and their significance has vanished. During the pandemic, Clearlink went "remote-first" and hired a quarter of their workforce out-of-state. But in a twisted turn of events, their new CEO has now mandated that employees within 50 miles of the office come in from 8:30-4:30, Monday through Thursday, with just one WFH Friday. He claims that remote workers are "lazy" while ignoring the fact that their survey shows that ~85% of employees want to work remotely. This decision shows that the CEO does not care about the employees' opinions or work-life balance. Clearlink used to offer extensive learning opportunities, but they let go of the learning and development team leadership in the layoffs, indicating that those opportunities will soon be a thing of the past. The CEO's decision to monitor every employee's work and the toxic culture of gossip and rumors that run through high-level leadership are a recipe for disaster. What's worse, the company's DEI program, once a source of pride, is now on life support. The CEO talks about inclusivity as if it's an inconvenience, and he feels picked on because people aren't inclusive of him and his religion, even though he's a white, cisgender, millionaire member of the LDS church in Utah. Listening to him speak during a town hall felt like attending an LDS conference. The whole thing was preachy and uncomfortable. In summary, Clearlink's current leadership has transformed a once-vibrant company into a grim and oppressive place. The CEO's lack of trust, work-life balance, and care for people is turning Clearlink into a strange culty dictatorship. If you want to maintain your sanity and dignity, I suggest staying far away from this company.

Poor vision, cowardly leadership

Pros

I’ll give two stars because we have decent vacation time, they haven’t cut the 401(k) match and my paycheck has never bounced.

Cons

I’ve been grappling with whether it was time to leave Clearlink for some time now. There’s zero growth potential, poor communication and very little vision. Many senior leaders seem to lack a basic understanding of the digital media landscape. There’s no willingness to make the investments that are needed to be competitive in the long term. The benefits have also become terrible. Many people have had routine claims for healthcare denied or can no longer afford their prescriptions. But it became clear that the time to leave is now on Monday, 04/03, when employees were told they would need to return to the office by 04/17 if we live within 50 miles of an office. This comes after years of being told we’re a culture that embraces remote work. There’s no reason for this mandate, but we were told in an email that “we will all benefit from the relationships, mentoring, and elevated mental health that only in-person can work can provide.” Many people will be left scrambling to find child care and will now be commuting 2 hours a day. So please don’t pretend you give a damn about anyone’s mental health. A lot of employees moved further out because they were promised remote work would continue. Senior managers were blindsided by this announcement. Yet they were then forced to have meetings with their teams despite being shell shocked as well.

Culture Crash

Pros

I really enjoyed my time at the company and made strong friendships with many of my co-workers. The flexibility and benefits were enough that I wanted to stay, regardless what salaries at other similar jobs would pay. There was also job stability from working for a profitable company. I'm giving a five star rating because my overall experiences have been amazing, But changes have been happening. Senior Management has, previously also been great.

Cons

All of the pros of working for Clearlink have been vanished in the wake of original founder James Clarke returning to the helm. He made a very controversial decision to move all business operations to a new top-notch office building while still in a long term commitment to two other office buildings.
