Started Great, Turned Disaster

Pros

Wonderful coworkers who work hard and know how to have fun when they can.

Cons

Leadership and lies. Worked there for more than five years and I watched a wonderful company dying by the inches. Unlimited PTO doesn’t work when there are not nearly enough people on the dev team to handle the work. Was straight lied to over the course of many months about a new position, then after I had to finally get some real answers about what was happening, was back handedly informed they decided they needed someone with more experience and had long since hired someone else for that team. New leadership has no idea how to properly manage the software, development cycles were a consistent joke and a scramble. I had to get out of there. Old white men run the company and made the big bucks while devs scrambled and a good chunk of work was given to an off shore team that often made things harder in the long run. Oh, did you know they basically force employees to leave good reviews for the yearly ‘look into the company’ aka: what your pay raise will be based on?

Had potential to be great, leadership failed it

Pros

Some of the smartest and most dedicated people to work with. Great benefits, interesting products.

Cons

Unlimited PTO still forces you to work, or else you're intimidated by management. Leadership and product can't focus on anything past the next few weeks, which means that priorities constantly shift and seem to conflict with each other. The new CTO and CEO don't understand how software is built and delivered leading to poor planning and communication. Multiple rounds of layoffs back-to-back kills morale.
