Pros

The hiring process is unique and meritocratic. Case studies are a time commitment, but it's the best way to give everyone a fair shot at the job, regardless of your resume. And in general, the culture is the same way. You can take this job as far as you want it to go, and there are no toes to step on. If you're a customer support agent, nobody will stop you from writing an investment brief that PMs usually write. And they're pretty serious about letting shooters shoot and changing your place in the org based on your skills.

Cons

Can be a lot of work, but it is what you make of it. No equity unless you're S&O, Product, or Engineering, which sucks. You have to be cognizant of getting Slack pings at all times of the day and weekend (it's healthcare staffing, so customers are 24/7 non-stop) and communicating your bandwidth accordingly.

Pros

Good work-life balance driven in part by being fully-remote; smart colleagues who are a pleasure to work with; interesting work; not resource-constrained; good benefits including very affordable health care coverage and unlimited PTO (that you actually get to use); Opportunities to grow within the team

Cons

Compensation is lower than if I'd stayed at a big law firm (to be expected); no 401(k) match

Pros

If you're driven and eager to learn, this is the place to be. The fast-paced environment means you're constantly challenged and growing. What truly stands out is the opportunity to work with brilliant minds across the globe in a well-structured and managed remote-first setup. The company has clearly put thought into team dynamics and ensuring everyone is in sync despite the distance. You'll learn an immense amount here.

Cons

As with many startups, work-life balance can be a challenge. The demanding pace might not suit everyone, though some of us find it manageable.
