Pros

On-board jobs at Clipper are fun, you get to be on the water most of the day and see Victoria/San Juan Island. Pay includes tip + commission, so you can control additional money you make through performance. Great if you're looking for a unique customer service position.

Cons

Long days and rough weather. Your shift can't end until the boat returns to Seattle, so in that way your day can be at the mercy of the weather.

Pros

paid time off, dental / vision / full group health benefits, 2 paid 15 hr breaks, industry perks - standby flights / amtrak discounts , free clipper rides, hotel discounts, and they have incentive gifts every once in awhile EX: $100 target gift card, free hotel stays w/ partnering hotel, actives such as zip-lining and whale watching, good money in the summer time, you can call in sick moderately often and they are understanding about time off (not in the summer), recently renovated office w/ sit and stand desks and treadmill desk, monthly bbq, 2 days off in a row usually, you can switch shifts with co workers

Cons

TERRIBLE commission structure that is not fair for most employees, reallllly early schedules or really late schedules unless you have top seniority and get can a mid shift ( i cant find a bus to get me to work at 5 45am), no free coffee for working at these awful hours, ugly uniform pants, strict time off regulations for summer, odd pay period, we are forced to take 1 hr lunch breaks, checking passengers in for hours every morning, zero organization when it comes to problems w/ cancelled sailings, hard to have a life when you work at 6am 5 days a week, grey cubicle office (why no color for the remodel??!) sitting in a windowless office for 8 hrs a day can be annoying...
