Pros

-Don't have to go into the office every day -Can somewhat set your own schedule

Cons

-Only make 10% commission, no base salary-If you don't discount and aren't deducted for mistakes - You have to drive 100+ miles a week without any gas money compensation -Any cost that comes from a mistake or issue out of your control in the install process will be deducted from your commission percentage. -Appointments can be scheduled almost any time of the day -Expected to work weekends and nights -Mainly work from home which is a disadvantage because you don't work amongst you peers, which greatly stunts your learning and understanding of the job -It's a small business therefore, there tends to be a lot of inter-office drama. -Management is dishonest and unfair with compensation and very accusatory towards employee's with mistakes

Closet Factory Response

It's hard to respond to a review from 2017 because the changes are too extreme in the last 5 or 6 years to compare. The company has grown in very positive ways through the years. I do know that Pittsburgh clients love their products. In fact they brag about them and I believe it takes team work and happy employees to create such success. Thanks for your feedback.

Pros

Training and support to become a top producer in 6-12 months. Quality product and installation that matches corporate mission to be the best. Very competitive pricing allows greater close potential. Franchise Owners (Steve & Lori Newman) are committed to be the best and give Designers and all employees the opportunity and support to succeed. Very "customer-centric".

Cons

Good problem - growing pains. Management very aware and responsive to this. Approx. 20% growth path creates issues that Management handles very quickly.

Pros

-Good amount of training (in person and online). -Great for people with no interior design experience, just need to consider space planning/functionality of space, which is included in training. -Work from home, visit clients' homes, attend a meeting every 2 weeks, get paid $130USD for each meeting. -Great personal discount on custom cabinetry. -High quality product with amazing lifetime warranty. -Lots of opportunity for bonuses. -Opportunity to market your own interior design services to your customers, as long as you use Closet Factory cabinetry when needed. Non-conflict sort of thing, I think.

Cons

-Online training was required by corporate... even though it was difficult to understand, outdated, and confusing. After every chapter, the questions were like trick/minor outdated details that you were taught the opposite of in in-person training. Lots of frustration there. -Sliding scale commission depending on if you priced the job correctly (max 15%) which they let you figure out yourself. They won't help or correct you in that regard, it just comes out of your paycheck :( -They throw a lot of customers and advanced projects at you very quickly when you start because they're understaffed.
