Pros

Cloudflare's products are second to none. I'll stand behind that. They are the best cybersecurity company from a complete product standpoint.

Cons

Where to start. Operations is an absolute disaster. Sales Management doesn't know what they're doing and simply push a "sell or get out" attitude. It's sad too because I saw the culture change over time. When I started there was a "lead with empathy" attitude by everyone. Now, and especially since new CRO Marc Boroditsky came in, it's much more fear based and robotic. Marc began subtly reducing AE's compensations in sneaky ways and certainly got the ball rolling for Matthew's embarrassing Q1 '23 earnings call where he literally called all of his success from the last 10 years solely because of the strength of the product (Matthew doesn't care about sales people at all FYI). I'm happy to have worked there while I did but the shift in company culture is abhorrently trending in the wrong direction.

Pros

- The product and people are amazing! Such potential here... - A COO that is truly the glue here - great human. -

Cons

- The CEO's ego and lack of respect for his sales organziation will impede this companies growth and ensure they are built out as a well oiled machine. - They hire and fire without any true effort into their sales people (outside of low priced sales training that does not even apply to the process it takes to sale here). Literally burn money on a hire with irrational ramp periods and set unattainable bars to rip and replace with the exact same type of rep (has to be expensive this way). - A seriously scary feeling of not knowing what they are doing with the sales org, and panic fixing it without any accountability to the failing pricing structure and overall structure.

Pros

The brightest engineers, full stop.

Cons

The CEO is a petty narcissist, that freaks out whenever there is an incident, and shows zero trust in his team. It’s been a known problem for years. No one does anything about it, because they are afraid of him, which is strange, because he’s not a particularly charismatic or intimidating person. Leadership openly asks managers to write positive Glassdoor reviews, and responds to negative reviews by suggesting employees take it up with their manager. Unfortunately, there is a culture of managers not listening to employees, so nothing changes. CEO is obsessed with creating an “office culture”, but can’t seem to describe to anyone what that means. Leadership loves to toss around the “seat on the rocket ship” analogy, but blatantly ignores the fact that rocket ship level engineering requires rigor, deliberation, transparency, and often, moving slower to make sure the right engineering is being done. The company lurches from one incident to another, never really learning from mistakes, yet is obsessed with growing quickly. Disaster in the making, and the best employees are leaving right and left.
