Pros

We received merit pay increases and bonuses this year Decent work-life balance

Cons

Crowded, old-fashioned, corporate offices mainly inhabited by parent company. There are not enough desks for everyone, so they are cramming folks into conference rooms. Inadequate internet connection from the office. There is too much noise to have remote meetings with other offices, which are crucial to the success of many teams. Frequent problems with product availability and performance due to not back-filling attrition. Leadership is blaming remote work for the problems, and and are forcing everyone to come into offices with inadequate space Monday through Thursday. Professional dress code is enforced. Communication has become poor. Our parent company just announced that we had just launched a product that isn't set to go out for quite a while still. Stingy about pay raises and promotions. The general feeling is that the return-to-office policy is a form of "soft layoffs".

Pros

The people I've had the pleasure to work with have been friendly and passionate. Clover's engineering culture strongly emphasizes collaboration.

Cons

Management is completely out-of-touch with employee needs and is only concerned with cost-cutting. Every year, more benefits are taken away without explanation. Most engineers I work with have been denied promotions for several years. No clear path for career growth. They recently mandated four days a week in-office, justifying it with a need to "better deliver for our clients". Management fails to understand that most teams are spread across many locations in the US and internationally, and cramming us into crowded, loud office spaces will only make it HARDER for us to deliver for our clients. The decline in employee investment will lead to further loss of talent and diminished quality in our product. After loving working at this company, I can no longer recommend it to anyone.
