Pros

The "onboarding" process is entirely by way of various e-learning packages, but I found these informative & useful, as I have no previous experience of working in retail. Colleagues and team leaders were subsequently very helpful in supporting me as I began to learn the various processes and procedures of my role, which is still ongoing.

Cons

I have found some of the I.T. related systems to be slow and often unreliable, which can be quite frustrating. The work is a lot more physical than I ever imagined and often leaves me feeling very tired after a longer shift.

If you're finding the transition to working in retail difficult, please make sure to let your manager know. We know that working in convenience retail can be challenging but it sounds like you are managing this well with the support of your team. Speed will come with time and practice, but we'd always prefer a task being done correctly than rushed.
