Pros

You’re treated so badly here that wherever you work next will automatically be better.

Cons

The Costar product and LoopNet marketing platform are great, and the inside sales job at the office pre-covid was really fun, however the CEO is a complete sociopath who enjoys treating his employees horribly. The entire LoopNet inside sales department was recently dismantled, which I get it, it’s a “business decision” and you wanted to clean house, but it was done in such an unnecessarily evil way. You didn’t need to humiliate our reps by playing our bad phone calls on zoom in front of the entire department. You didn’t need to threaten us for weeks with an archaic test that you claimed we needed to get a 90% on that was full of arbitrary stats that changed on a weekly basis. You didn’t need to threaten us with being fired on a daily basis. After the CEO fired and humiliated our sales department and bragged about it on a zoom call, he proceeded to put 80% of the inside sales team on a performance improvement plan for no reason other than to force us all out or get us fired. Keep in mind we had several top performers who all of a sudden got put on this performance plan after successfully hitting quota every month for years. If you think being a loyal employee for years will earn yourself respect or job security, think again. Unless you can move to Richmond, VA your job isn’t safe. Look elsewhere, this place is run by a narcissistic sociopath who lashes out on his own employees when he can’t get his way Aka looses out on buying another company to grow his monopoly.

Pros

The Benefits are outstanding and heavily subsidized by the employer, but they have to have some way to reel you in and place the handcuffs on you.

Cons

I don't even know where to start. Nothing is ever thought out, constantly reacting and they do nothing proactively. The culture is awful. So cut throat that your own teammates will screw you if given a chance. You are treated like a number and replaceable at any moment. There is no admired leadership anywhere in the company. The talented ones are leaving faster than they can be replaced. Communication is top down and field is never asked for thoughts or ideas. Everyday is just checking a box and moving through a list of who they believe are best opportunities for new business. The data in the system is hideously wrong which is embarrassing considering CoStar claims to be a data company. There has been zero innovation in product or tools in a very long time. Your only tool to sell with the huge marketing spend and the number of visitors to the site. neither of which prospects care about. Upper Management does not understand market conditions and refuses to believe what the field team tells them - again, CoStar data reflects higher availability then what is actual. There is zero work/life balance and you sell your sole daily to unscrupulous tactics of those around you. Texas Markets and Chicago are the worst, they would not know teamwork or collaboration if it ran them over. Completely not flexible with remote working or even work from home - which both proved to be more successful in 2020. Daily and Monthly metrics are almost impossible and grind the passion from all.

Pros

-good benefits: 401k, 3 weeks standard vacation, 5 sick days (although are monitored), 3 days for wedding, etc. -solid pay

Cons

-MUST be in office. You're location is tracked to make sure you're swiping yourself into the office daily. - they try to buy moral. Giveaways for days off, cars, vacations..you're automatically entered via the tracking they do with your keycard. -No growth and unequal pay. Promotions are given by popularity. I have no idea how compensation is done. Some people who have been here for years make less than entry level new hires. - CEO has a god complex and leadership mirrors that behavior. Very greedy and stubborn bunch who has traditional values although the company preaches otherwise. It's their way or the highway. -No diversity. Look at the leadership team, all white males who all make 7 figures. No understanding or perspective of what people need to thrive in their role. - Some get special treatment. Our diversity numbers are so poor, they let the only black colleague on another team work from home to keep them--but everyone else is required to come into the office.
