Pros

Great view, smart people, good location

Cons

upper management cares more about politics than competency. So much so that turnover at the Boston office was at an all time high with talent leaving left and right. I've also witnessed unprofessional behavior.

Pros

Good pay and benefits, but it will cost you your soul.

Cons

Expect constant change in your responsibilities. There's a lack of focus on a long term plan and too much focus on metrics that don't matter. Managers and directors cannot be trusted and are not honest people. If you give notice, expect their true colors to show, even if you considered them close. You lose your autonomy as an employee of theirs. The research title has moved away from research and it's more of a call center rep now.

Change is a constant here and that long-term focus on staying agile helps us to remain the leader in a fiercely competitive market. Calling is a crucial component of our research methodology. It’s been shown time and time again that calling drives value for our clients by obtaining information that simply cannot be gathered through other means. If you’d like to provide more information on your experience you can always contact us at hrdepartment@costar.com.

Pros

I don't know if any of the pros actually out-weigh the cons but if I had to pick a few 'pros' they would be: - Good salary for an outbound call centre - The people are the nicest bunch you could ever meet; with the exception of the management team - Free tea and coffee - The office is nice enough - The five week induction training is enjoyable and delivered well

Cons

Where to start.... - Management are dictator-like and unskilled. In their defence, they are as scared of losing their jobs as their counterparts. Spineless invertebrates with no ability to defend their extremely high-skilled and hard-working staff or themselves. There are managers who have some good skills and as a management team they can probably form one good manager minus a spine when combined. - The highest staff turn-over I have ever witnessed. The lack of investigation into why this is; no exit interviews conducted by their pitiful HR department and no measures taken to reduce or even address this. - The senior management team have an excessive degree of arrogance and ignorance: believing that their staff won't leave due to salary or that their staff are easily replaceable; believing that their clients like them remotely and will tolerate the bombardment of calls; believing that their ridiculous branding script is making them look good to clients; believing that their employees actually want to work for them and believing that their American operation can be emulated throughout the world with no adaptions across different countries. There is nobody who works here who is HAPPY to work here; they either do it whilst looking elsewhere or because it suits their work/life balance. - The work is mundane; the goal posts are constantly changed; unachievable targets; performance management if you don't achieve the targets; investigations and disciplinaries if you do achieve the targets; the staff morale is so low that multiple people cry at work each and every day. - The place is categorically the worst place I have ever worked. The salary is not sufficient compensation for the personality transplant you require when you join this company. You lose a sense of self each and every day that you work there, you will slowly forget how to tell jokes, laugh, smile, have positive thoughts and enjoy life but you can always use your tears to season your free tea and coffee I guess....
