Pros

Good benefits and competitive salaries. 401k matching, employee stock options and stocked up fridge. I can't think of anything else.

Cons

Very bad work culture. You have absolutely no freedom to work. You must only follow orders from your manager. The culture does not encourage new ideas and engineers working there for over 10 yrs are extremely sensitive about their code even though it's obsolete. There's absolutely no scope of growth and if your manager is bad, God help you. There's no chance of switching the team. Absolutely zero work from home policy. I had to come to work even during Sandy storm. I was told that CEO has a habit of sneaking in and peep in your machine and hence absolutely NO NO to browsing other than work. They track all your incoming and outgoing time and if total is less than 8 hrs, an email gets triggered to your manager, that's the level of micro management. If you want a 9-5 job and do not want to take pride in your work, this job is for you.

Pros

Most of the people are genuine, friendly, and helpful. There is a drive to share information and build expertise. There's not really any office politics (bear in mind, I'm in the software development section). There is an expectation of quality, which is to say that the company allows for sufficient time to do the work right. You'll be given the opportunity to do work you can be proud of, among smart peers. The location is great if you're close to DC, being right in the thick of things. At the headquarters offices, you're provided with nice amenities like a gym, fresh fruit, and salads.

Cons

There is no telecommuting allowed. If you live in the suburbs, expect a long commute with little relief (However, that is for the headquarters. There are a number of sales branch offices and I can only speak for working in development) The development methodology is ostensibly "Agile", but, as in many places, it depends on the manager / section how much it really is. Some of the managers have worse "soft-skills" than others.

Pros

Great incentives and give-aways. Will definitely invest $$$ into their brand. There are some good managers working there. Great office space.

Cons

Extremely corporate environment under CoStar leadership. (coming from a relaxed one). Micromanagement from the Top can be stifling. There are some horrible managers there.
