recently acquired several companies so going through a lot of changes..not much room for growth in other departments other than research or sales.

Research and Sales are our largest departments and as a result there are many options for personal growth to accommodate such a large workforce, but that’s not to say our other departments are restrictive. Accounting and Product Development, for example, offer numerous individual development opportunities that allow for skill development and the ability to take on new responsibilities. As CoStar Group continues to grow, we are constantly working to provide even greater opportunity for growth for our employees, and those will continue to evolve as time goes by. Pros

The company itself is very forward-thinking, innovative and have healthy initiatives. My colleagues were great to work with. Program Developers are on their game, constant updates to keep up with times / changing markets.

Cons

It's hard not to feel like a number because the company is so huge. I have to talk to a supervisor to talk to a manager to talk to my director to talk to HR...

We appreciate the feedback. I want to make sure you know that the lines of communication are more open than you may think. Any inter-departmental questions you may have can often be handled more directly – particularly for Human Resources, as we know many topics are very personal. If you don’t know who to speak to, email HRDepartment@costargroup.com and the right person will be able to get in touch with you to help. For any issues that need to go up the food chain, but we recommend keeping your direct manager in the loop because they know you best, and will be able to help advocate for you in terms of reaching the right people. As our Sales structure has recently been reorganized to better fit all members of the Sales force, new policies for the promotion review process in place, looking at both an individual’s skills as a salesperson as well as a potential leader, when it applies.
