Pros

Great snacks. Gym access. Bikes and Segways. Great Christmas Party. Young and fun office culture. fun lower management. Great way to learn the ins and outs of real estate. Great entry level opportunity.

Cons

No communication between departments or middle managements. Projects are assigned with no deadline or goal.. they just continue until a new one pops up. Not a great career advancement place but they are getting better about it. No challenges or use of creativity. Very robotic work.

Thanks for your feedback, and I’m glad you were able to learn about the real estate industry, we like being able to give our researchers the chance to learn about a field they (in many cases) would like to have a career in one day. Opportunity for career advancement is something we have been working to further develop in recent months, and in the coming weeks with the start of a new Market Analyst role in our US offices, we are aiming for researchers to be able to better see the career paths available to them. I’m sorry to hear you didn’t feel you were able to be creative, but the nature of the research role is analysis and information, and our recruiting team works to communicate that clearly with candidates so they know what is ahead for them in the position. As the career paths develop into a stronger aspect of Research, researchers should be able to challenge themselves as they reach for certain accomplishments to help them reach their career goals within the company. I will pass on your feedback to Research management, who is always looking for ways to improve the organizational effectiveness of the department. Best of luck to you in your career!

Pros

Free snacks in the break room. The hot chocolate is probably the best thing about this job. The research managers are awesome. They are very down to earth and understand the job sucks. Work life balance is great. You punch in and out every day. So once you punch out after 8 hours you leave and completely forget about the job until the next day when you punch back in.

Cons

Incredibly boring work. You are a glorified telemarketer. I honestly do not understand how some people have been researchers for 10 plus years. A lot of people complain about the metrics, but it really is not very hard to meet them if you're working. The day to day job gets very old very fast. The directors run around like chicken with their heads cut off. They throw random assignments out and constantly change what needs to be done. You end up doing the same project 5 times because they change what they want done every week. Pay is pretty bad for requiring a college degree. A lot of people leave because they can find entry level jobs paying a lot more.

Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback. There are times when our clients’ needs do not allow for the time to pilot and measure the best possible practices for the projects. Every project is a learning opportunity for our managers and directors, and feedback like this, along with that of current employees, helps us to ensure that the process goes smoother in the future. We strive to pay competitively with the market for each role based on the responsibilities and duties. We believe the minimum requirements for each role are in line with the quick learning curve that’s required and supported by the career opportunities we offer. Thanks again for your input, and best of luck to you in your career.
