Pros

Cannot say much good of this company. They paid salary on time and the office was clean. A lot of people I worked with were nice.

Cons

There appear to be a few reviews that have been written by HR recently. Let me tell you how it is. Any feedback to the contrary will be answered. 1. You have to do unpaid overtime because there is not enough time in the day. 2. There is an air of depression in the call centres (thats what they are). 3. Staff are talked down to and belittled. 4. The team managers are not there to help but to watch you. 5. Bonus is almost unachievable and if you do get some it will be minimal. 6. I have seen untalented people and cheats get promoted because they say the 'right' things. 7. Feedback is not listened to. 8. There is a mentality that thinks it is acceptable to hire and fire at will. 9. The upper management resent the staff and treat the foot soldiers like scum. 10. Most people are looking for a way out. All of the above is true and can be proved. All in all it is a soul destroying place to work. Do not settle for this.

Pros

The people on the front line… The Associates are for the most part excellent and an asset to a company which has little else to offer.

Cons

Where to start… Directors do not care about staff only the bottom line, the front door should be revolving to allow for the excessive turnover in staff, bullying culture from the top down, no job security what’s so ever, training does not cover what you need to know to be able to survive in this role and promotion is handed out on a face fits or doesn’t ask reasonable questions basis. There is loads more than this but I am sure you are starting to get a feel for what it is or will be like for you to work here. My experience was shocking working for this business. I have worked for large conglomerates through to small businesses and have never faced a culture of fear, bullying and general staff demoralization in any work place like that which CoStar will give to you. Even though I was one of the most successful managers in the business, worked well beyond my role requirements and always delivered what I was asked for I still was treated with mistrust and aggression. I put this down to me being an intellectual person who will constructively challenge business steps and processes instead of just saying yes… Some insider headlines for you: Staff attrition is around 45% minimum. It is a call centre despite what they may say (you will be on the phones 90% of your day calling out often as cold calls to people trying to get them to share information with you which you will then be expected to call repeatedly about every other week). Bonus is weighted so that it gets harder for you to achieve bonus week on week and control measures are in place around quality to ensure the uncapped bonus is clawed back and never paid. Do a great job and you will be over looked unless you can flirt with a specific director (or the CEO) to get promotion. The trainers experience with NLP is poor at best despite what is said. If you are working here then you need to get out… There are loads of opportunities out there where you will be fairly rewarded and treated as a human unlike you will be at CoStar. If you are thinking of working here then think again. Read what I have said again and take what I say very seriously. I’m not being bitter. I did very well in the business. I just could not continue working for a company which treated its people so poorly.

Pros

Good pay, good coworkers, mediocre training (at least the training is paid)

Cons

The metrics system is impossible as it is always changing. Managers are rarely aware of the changes. Little opportunity for job growth.
