      Research is a Call Center

      Pros

      The pay is better than any call center around, and higher than average for the region.

      Cons

      If you apply to work in research, know that you are working in a call center. A heavily monitored call center at that. Your value to the company is determined by your ability to meet contrived performance metrics, and not by the quality of your work. Plan to work here long enough to save up money and move on to the next job.
