Pros

It’s nearly impossible to get fired by this company. Proof of that is wandering aimlessly around the store and corporate offices is every day.

Cons

Every negative thing you’ve heard about grocery retail is amplified by Coborns. Completely tone-deaf to the world around them. Ignored the safety of employees during the early months of the pandemic. Grudgingly instituted a small pay increase during early pandemic, but only because all of their competitors did it first. Repealed the increase after 3 months. Apparently they felt that the pandemic was over in June of 2020.

Pros

Store level leadership is, overall, very good. The business is very well established. The company and the Coborn family are well known for their involvement in the community and their philanthropy.

Cons

Corporate operates like they are still just 5 stores. Very change averse. Incompetent leadership of the IT group causes a very toxic "blamestorming" culture while at the same time holding no one accountable. Improper resource planning causes confusion and multiple failed projects because of misused resources and constantly shifting priorities.
