Tough to get things done

Pros

Large company with varying corporate cultures depending on geo, team - so if you're stuck in a bad one, you can try to move to another team and have better luck. Some leaders are very open to new ideas. HR business partners are wonderful - willing to listen to concerns and are sympathetic/empathetic (but not empowered to do much to help anyone).

Cons

Internal IT support is terrible - they must use their best for customers. Tickets can take weeks to resolve and, if you want to install some software to try something new or for a proof-of-concept, you'll give up on it before you get the needed approvals. Internal/corporate functions have some great people but are simply not empowered or enabled to help anybody - they often have creative ideas that go nowhere. And the restrictions are getting worse. Timesheets for everyone - doesn't matter if you're not billable (i.e. in a corporate function) - you can get dinged on your annual review if you're submitting them late. Bonuses and increases have been weak for at least 2 or 3 years - maybe longer. Watchout for layoffs - they've been ongoing on a large scale for 2 years and are likely to continue. Company promotes internal moves but makes accessing opportunities impossible. I think those moves are all geared toward billable associates - corporate functions are out of luck.

Internal Hunger games

Pros

You can hide out here while making a decent wage and not working very hard. Plenty of long-term mediocre performers who will keep the average low.

Cons

Culture is cut throat and political. Internal fights over revenue credit create all the wrong behaviors. Most decisions and allocations operate on underground barter system and trades for favors. Sales unable to sell value - only low price so margins are squeezed and people treated like commodity. Constant layoffs. Business is not growing. Budgets being cut. Everything is over-regulated and originates from a culture of mistrust. Bonuses average 75-80% of goal. Merit increases are very low (1-2%) and timelines are keep getting stretched out. Promotions for D+ have to be approved by CEO which means they don’t happen. Best talent walking out. India culture over inflates and under delivers. DEI is all hype.

NextGen job cuts

Pros

Great people in the US to work with. Good benefits. Work from home.

Cons

The company has been so busy with restructuring and reorganization for many years that they lost the ability to stay competitive. Performance is irrelevant regarding cost savings and firing in the US. Top performers who did extraordinary things for the company were let go based on salary and location. All jobs are shifting back to India. They also lie about diversity. They promote women into high positions for the press but fire hundreds in the background, including single moms with kids. There are no ethical standards, and career progression is almost impossible.
