Pros

The vacation time is good but if you take it you need to train someone and find coverage and when you come back from vacation it's a nightmare trying to catch up

Cons

The insurance for a family is incredibly high. The parking fees are ridiculous and he company will not reimburse you for parking. The hours are supposed to be 37.5 but you work more than 40 and don't get paid for over time. The company is a little disorganized trying to figure out things as they go. There's really no training which can make you feel very overwhelmed. Basically it's a customer service job with 100's of emails and excel spreadsheets because there is no solid platform. The salary is not that great either. Wish I know all this before accepting a position here

Pros

Good cultural commission which happy hour comes early at 3pm on Fridays. Free coffee and snacks.

Cons

Employees who do all work do not get bonuses. Nobody works 37.5 hours a week, more like 50-55 hours a week with no overtime pay. It is required to be available after hours at night to work with counterparts in Australia. Seems there are no salary increases unless you change your job title. Management is only concerned about bottom line and not the growth or future of employees.

If you work at Cogstate, have a back-up plan

Pros

Remote work is a plus. There is typically flexibility.

Cons

Cogstate will terminate people who are performing very well, with no notice. They are known for doing this. Do not take a job here unless you are prepared to be let go without cause or warning, regardless of your performance. Despite their messaging, they do not have much regard for their employees. They do not consider who will pick up that person's work within their department when they are let go. Morale is low. People do not feel secure in their jobs, with good reason.
