Pros

Best benefits. Least work for people who is not interested. Continuity of job regardless of the performance. Good parking, Many co-curriular activities

Cons

This organization seems to have the biggest list of cognitive bias: Anchoring bias, Confirmation bias,Bandwagon effect on existing service vendors, Bias blind spots,Choice-supportive bias,Conservatism bias, Curse of knowledge, Duration neglect, Hyperbolic discounting, Negativity bias, Omission bias,Post-purchase rationalization, Salience, Selective perception, Stereotyping, Zero-risk bias. Silo-ed knowledge base. Complexity v/s people ratio is very less. But rework and mundane jobs are everywhere. Talent is rarely used optimally. Power display is more prominent than actual success or performance.

A place where nothing gets done

Pros

Competetive salary, easy life style and great benefits

Cons

the college board functions by having 1-3 people in a department working very hard managing the day-to-day operations and then having the rest of team work on "special" intitatives, projects and campaigns that really do not accomplish much. This is a place where you walk into the departments and instantly can tell real work is not being done. Its very common not to hear a phone ring or even hear typing for an hour on an entire floor - all you hear is mouse clicks.

Great Work, Great Benefits, Poor Management

Pros

College Board is engaging in some of the most important work, and continue to be leaders as far as education advocacy and innovation goes. Compensation for non-profit is one of the highest I've seen. Excellent time-off policies, and one of the best benefits package available.

Cons

Very poor in fostering sense of community amongst employees, and dangerously top-heavy. Weak leadership in some departments, and focus in too much "big picture" rather than staff development. Lack of visibility across the board, and very hierarchical.
