Pros

Great people, almost everyone is very smart and committed to the mission Pay is competitive Work/Life balance is OK, but sometimes it seems you're on-call 24/7

Cons

Uncertain career structure Managers are territorial and unlikely to collaborate Training is available but it's not clear where it will lead you Investments in newer technology are insufficient, leading to many inefficiencies

Pros

Retirement benefits Vacation Days Non Profit/Feel Good Mission

Cons

I was so excited to be offered a position at The College Board and I could not be more shocked by the disengagement of employees, the antiquated approach to work, technology, and life balance, and the amount of rude managers that are on staff. My ED will literally roll her eyes at you if she disagrees with someone point. WHAT! They are very focused on the hours you put in and the face time you make which is ridiculous in a world that has opportunities for flex time, telecommuting, web based applications, and other resources.

Pros

Time-off, flexibility, retirement contributions, friendly coworkers, education benefits. If you are looking for a role where you can feel relaxed, get paid exceptionally well for more comfortable output volumes and reap exceptional benefits then this may be the place for you.

Cons

This is all dependent on the division. Managers are seemingly placed in management positions because there are no alternative growth opportunities for them. Employees are rarely trusted to think for themselves. If you are looking for ambitious coworkers who are driven to do great work then be very careful about which areas of this company you choose to call home.
