      Good benefits; inefficient and dysfunctional organization

      Pros

      - good benefits - mission is wonderful - most of the people who work at the College Board are good people who care about education. - stable (people stay at College Board for years - probably due to the great benefits)

      Cons

      - leadership is not aligned (no sense of a cohesive leadership team) - morale is terrible (employees complain constantly) - bureaucracy gets in the way of getting work done. Leaders are able to pull strings and get around the bureaucracy everyone else has to go through. - bad place for young professionals who are hungry for challenging and engaging work - this organization moves very slowly

      There are many talented staff members. The organization is driven by its mission. The organization is fiscally sound and provides good salaries and benefits to employees. The location in NYC is good.

      Cons

      There were frequent re-organizations. Senior leadership was inconsistent in its communications to staff members.

      Pros

      Excellent Education and Retirement Benefits. Interesting Work with a Good Mission I have managed a large part of a a long career here and largely enjoyed the people and the overall environment.

      Cons

      Very bureaucratic and often divisive. The company has always been highly siloed, however, in recent years there have been significant expansions and contractions with new groups being bolted on rather than integrated, and then drop just as suddenly.
