High Collaborative environment and you're surrounded by many intelligent people

Cons

Very unclear mission and goals. Upper management doesnt really listen to the people doing the work. We also have a very top heavy organization. A lot of thinkers but not many doers.

Pros

I enjoyed the work I was doing and the people I worked with. The company mission was one worth working toward as the real focus was to improve the college and career readiness of all students and help them achieve their potential.

Cons

As I was part of a group to help manage projects and budgets, the main issue was a lack of accountability of the project sponsors and senior management when it came to adhering to set constraints. Often projects would take longer to implement and spend considerably more than originally budgeted. There was little to no consequence for missing targets and this proved to be frustrating at times.

Great opportunity with a mission driven employer, if you are on a team that functions as a team rather than as individuals who happen to work together. At the end of the day, you do good things for schools and students.

Cons

Brutal contracts process often dismays clients. You're hands are often tied there. Teams often find it difficult to work cross-functionally. Vague senior leadership.
