Pros

-Overall work is towards the moral cause of dealing with Covid-19 -Nice exposure to opportunities for junior professionals looking for their first/second job -Pay and benefits are good

Cons

-Major stakeholders, on all fronts, are stuck in how it was a year ago - the growth from small to mid-sized conundrum -Severe blindness to DEI issues, masked by favoritism and ego -Praise for sweat and tears, rather than working smarter or scope of productivity

Pros

The work culture is very impact/mission driven and the employees and leadership really care about having a positive impact on population health and prioritizing operational and product excellence for underserved communities (e.g. accessibility for elderly, unhoused, undocumented, foreign language speaking, and hard of hearing/seeing persons). The work culture is very collaborative and supportive.

Cons

It is a start up culture, which means work life balance can be an issue at times. This does vary tremendously depending on the healthcare landscape though, eg during a COVID surge you may work 12-15 hour days, however at slower times I’ve worked 4 hour days. Plus whenever I’ve worked long hours my managers have always given me burn days (aka personal days without using PTO).
