Very biased towards age and handicap. I traveled 2000 miles for this job, and they laid me off after one year because I was late to class twice. They knew I had a handicap and would not go so far as to put my class in the same building as I was, which was very easy to do as other English classes were already using that room.

Standard academic politics do apply somewhat, though I believe it is better than many places. As always, specific experience will largely be determined by your student-advisor relationship. Student funding is largely on a cases-by-case basis, make sure you understand clearly what it will and won't include before you wind up in a financially dry spot.
