Pros

I was employed at Umpqua Bank for a little over 4.5 years. The first three years were wonderful. The management was very engaging; even the CEO often scheduled quarterly calls to provide the company's vision and thank all associates for their hard work. Although the pay wasn't great, it was a very pleasant work environment.

Cons

Everything changed after the announcement of the merger with Columbia Bank. The writing was on the wall when the new CEO came from CB, and the culture definitely changed. All former Umpqua Bank's management and associates were pushed out or laid off

Pros

2 years ago, there wasn't a better bank to work at or do business with. The newly appointed CEO is the demise of this Company

Cons

Micro management at its finest. Low wages compared to other financial institutions. Management that have no idea what their team does or what programs they use. They can't answer any work related questions, but can tell you that you were 5 minutes late coming back from lunch.
