Pros

Amazing co-workers, decent earned leave benefits, you feel like you're serving your community.

Cons

This organization is very "top heavy" and bureaucratic for a small hospital. While the range of services is certainly helpful for the community, make no mistake, this organization charges top dollar for services. Management is either not competent enough to understand the jobs and roles of the employees they oversee or they simply don't care. Pay is decent, but reform is definitely needed in the wage scales. Staffing is a chronic issue here. I don't see it improving anytime soon, because the upper management seems far more worried about bean counting and productivity, than creating a satisfying environment for employees to deliver excellent customer service and get patient to their appointments in a timely manner. Health benefits are among the worse offered in a healthcare setting. I think baristas at coffee shops are offered better benefits than there cheapest plan available to employees. The premiums for a family with the higher quality "base plan" puts it out of reach for some employees so they are stuck with the "high deductible HSA plan" that makes me hope that I never get sick and need to use health care services, especially if they have to be rendered outside the hospital. Promotions are given to those with "education", but those that have been their for years and actually know how to do the job are not even given an interview. No tuition reimbursement. No earned sick leave, there is only earned leave. Continuing education is a joke to this hospital. The Planetree designation is an illusionary achievement that the hospital boasts about. Planetree is best described as putting lipstick on a pig. Upper management acts like it cares about creating an environment for patient care to be delivered in a way that few hospitals can brag about. However, when push comes to shove, upper management uses the designation as a way to stay in the dark about serious customer service issues that arise with the hospital while maintaining the bragging rights that comes with this elusive designation. Human resources is their for management and its front desk is known for its lack of knowledge when it comes to employee benefits and making anti-union remarks to new employees.

Pros

Great coworkers. Staff work together well, at levels. Feels like being part of a team.

Cons

Scheduling can be erratic sometimes, but at least you know it for the entire month, as opposed to week by week.

Pros

Clean hospital and clinic & great cafeteria. Honestly, my outlook on CMH is so negative because of all the cons and the experience I had while employed there.

Cons

Health Insurance was the worst I've seen yet; management lies and manipulates; rare opportunity to advance in a career unless you suck up to management; very little tuition reimbursement unless you're a part of admin/management; very low pay compared to other hospitals and clinics- the list could on and on.
