Pros

Busy environment. Pleasant building ambiance with lots of potential to be a good small town hospital.

Cons

Middle management and supervisors are sorely underqualified and provide very little support or training for staff. Very cliqish about friends and family in the hiring process.

Pros

Staff was friendly and helpful to each other, had a family feel most of the time (depending on the department) in having each other's backs. The hospitalists they had while I was there were good to work with and willing to listen.

Cons

Huge rift between administration and staff - lots of disagreements and miscommunication. Issues could be handled differently so as not to create more bad feelings, but instead it seems both management and staff deliberately do things to further the gap between them. Negotiation years are a nightmare. No willingness to compromise or see the other side - it's like the US government!
