Pros

Great benefits (tuition for self, spouse, and children), large organization with room for movement and growth. Employees are surrounded by and often work closely with scholars who are thought leaders in their field.

Cons

Low morale in many departments. Senior management often perceived to be looking out only for themselves and their friends. Bureaucratic.

Pros

Very flexible scheduling, competitive pay, fun work atmosphere, and having a job that i'm actually proud to put on my resume.

Cons

A better location for the home office would be nice... but space at Columbia is hard to find.

Pros

There are so many opportunities for advancement, as well as trying different fields, different jobs. Fellow employees are for the most part really smart, the students are for the most part fun to work with, as are the faculty, the campus is nice, ...

Cons

The salaries tend to be waaaay below market -- Columbia attracts an intelligent, motivated workforce, but doesn't seem to place much value on its workers.
