Pros

Opportunities to learn new technologies, Great benefits, Mainly 9-5 hours, Flexibility to work from home as needed, Open door policy, Regular performance evaluations

Cons

No clear career path / no room to grow into a new role, Silos and politics, Sometimes work environment can be a bit difficult to thrive in within group, So far not much collaboration with devs on projects (solo work)

Pros

I worked as contractor for the EM&M team in Inverness near Denver Colorado. Worked as a developer on a configuration management team installing new builds into a test environment. I really enjoyed the work, my co-workers, the work was challenging.

Cons

The management for Comcast changes course and direction too often. Hiring and removing employees and contractors for no good reason. Management tends to follow an idea for a while and when they don't think it is working, will throw resources in another direction with seemingly no rhyme or reason.
