Pros

You can honestly be hired in an hour because they constantly lost people when I started there it's that bad they either fire you if you refuse to become their slave and commit to whatever insane schedule or tasks they expect you to perform or employees just up and left. The only pro: paycheck was always correct and accurate that's it though!

Cons

Your expected to perform EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING: do unlicensed maintenance unless your smart enough to say no, go alone into guests rooms if there is a problem regardless of time of day with no other employees or staff left at the hotel, prepare and serve breakfast continuously, maintain front desk, do night auditing, patrol hotel, fold all laundry..it goes on. The first day I came in and found our schedule it was completely different then what was discussed before I even started. I was told to come specific times the first week and then on the schedule I was put on two to three times in one day to come in... and to this day I'm still not sure what that was about never has anyone done that to me before in any job it was completely unhealthy as well as unsettling.. I was put on four to five hours in the am...then 3-11 then 2am-7am and even after the much warranted gasp and vocally realistic objection this was attempted again and again...and again!!! I wrote on the application that I was flexible but I geuss that somehow translated to "put me on all three at once please" and hope I wouldn't notice or say anything! I wish I were kidding I really was. This was done with all other employees as well there was always a constant battle about the schedule. Extremely fast talking/tried to constantly quickly overlook and talk over what you were trying to say or explain at one point I just gave up trying to complain. There was a constant back and forth of trying to blame each other between higher ups about everything. They tried sticking us with double shifts or change a date/hours every three seconds and you wouldn't even know until you came in and visually looked at the schedule because you were never informed. When you would bring it up they would aggressively state over you "well you never stated you can't do these hours and we need coverage!" So to avoid this you had to write out and sign so you had proof of your availability so they don't try taking advantage! They let anyone and I mean any person occupy this hotel to make a sale. I witnessed mentally unstable, drunk, and call girls come through even though the hotel is supposed to go against this and has policies and learning modules indicating the importance of employee as well as guest safety. You start off at $9 an hour with no bonus for night shift. Extremely cheap and unfair you get absolutely no time off, holiday pay, health insurance there are no incentives of any kind whatsoever. You are left all by yourself after hours and the guests are always aware of that making it very unsafe and unsettling. There is no key to lock the office when you go in and out you can lock from the inside and there are other doors to come in and out but there is always one door you have to keep unlocked in order to be able to get back in unless you want to try hopping over the counter breaking your neck..so good luck if you need to use the bathroom which is outside the office. When I started and I would say two months in at least ten different employees came and went not kidding! Please do not accept any offer or work there! It is a completely unreliable and unsafe place. You also obviously can never take a break because you are always alone! The list can go on and on and on! Find another actual good quality hotel to work for.

Pros

Absolutely none.this job was horrible.

Cons

Have to clock out downtown break, other maids going in after you clean your rooms and they dirty them, long hours, always being told your slow , favoritism, promised pay 9.50 but when checks come out 8.00 or lower ( so check your checks) missing hours.

Pros

Working as housekeeping is solitary for the most part, which I enjoyed. Routine work, easy to get the hang of. A good team can feel like a second family.

Cons

Unpredictable hours. Even worse is the constant feeling of being too slow, and not finishing rooms in the time expected. I never took a break longer than 10 minutes, twice a day. Never ate during working hours for fear of losing progress. Ended up physically burnt-out, quickly.
