A company who should care

Pros

Being of benefit to our client base by making a difference in their lives. Initially being allowed to have a flexible schedule. Initial sense that the company wanted my input and creative suggestion. Well decorated and maintained physical office.

Cons

Upper Management employs a great deal of lip service in support of staff. No ability to voice legitimate concerns and be offered constructive resolutions. Any suggestion offered to management is seen as " Negative" and not worthy of consideration. Promotion of staff that only complies with management dictates. Interested in the bottom line only .Constantly changing job descriptions and hours for office staff. No consistent chain of command. Nepotism.

Pros

Indepth and on going training provided; up to date information shared with employees towards understanding clients illnesses & best practices for dealing with those illnesses.

Cons

Entry level, low paying position. This is a job for someone who simply wants to care for others by helping and taking care of someone elses needs, it is not a job to earn a monetary reward.

Pros

I guess the pay was decent

Cons

When they say that you are "on call" it means you are working. Just as you were in the office. You work 8 hours then go home and work 8 more with phone calls all through the night. They will stop for a few hours then start again at 5 am. Then you head into work (the phone ringing the whole time you're driving) to work another 8 hours. Often I would work a whole weekend straight through (48 hours). And you have to beg employees to go to work. Often they will call in minutes before a shift and you have to rush to fill it. Manager was a tyrant and no matter what you did it was wrong. Constant environment of stress, fear and bullying.
