Pros

None. Nothing. Not a single thing. Seriously.

Cons

ALL OF THE 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE FAKE!!!!! I have proof that this company begs their employees to leave 5 start reviews on this site and others. This company is horrible and as fake as their 4.6 star rating. Read the poor reviews rather than the good ones. Seems pretty comical that every review has "no cons at this time" hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Do your self a favor and apply for a job at a real company and not this one, unless your'e a frat guy who is looking pretend they have a cool job on social media.

Hello, We absolutely encourage our employees to give honest feedback both in person and on public forums like Glassdoor and Indeed. Each employee has an opportunity to provide feedback directly to their leader during their monthly one-on-one meetings; however, not everyone is comfortable having these conversations in person, so sites like this are an anonymous way for employees to reach us. We are always looking to get better and would like to discuss your experience directly. Please reach out to Pam Hayes at (810) 220-2655 at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

Pros

None. I was beyond excited to be a part of this company. It didn’t take long to learn they DO NOT follow their 1440 slogan. They put their employees LAST, not first. They’ll lie straight to your face and tell you what you want to hear, and before you know it, they’re stabbing you in the back. They’re so pathetic and blame everything on their staff they so ‘value’.

Cons

Too many. I’d love to ‘contact Pam Heyes’ as I’ve seen written on several reviews. However, what would it actually do to contact you, Pam? Honestly, what could you possibly do to help?? My fear is that you’ll be like your coworkers, and lie to me….again.

Hello, We appreciate the time you took to write out this review. We are aware that you left a similar review on our StoryPoint Indeed page as well, so we assume you work at one of our communities and not our home office (Common Sail Investment Group). Regardless, we think speaking with you directly about your experience would be beneficial. If you would like to talk with us, please reach out to Sarah Owen at (810) 543-1792.

Pros

It was an absolute pleasure working with the employees of CSIG who were friendly, helpful, and encouraging your success. Working with and forming relationships with their various teams (i.e; Independence Village, StoryPoint, Laurus) was quite beneficial and rewarding. Employees were also encouraged to partake in a give-back Blitz each year, where you could meet employees & residents at the various communities, while helping clean and/or refurbish the building to be in tip-top shape. The company was very accommodating to flexible schedules for planned appointments or to care for your children, which was much appreciated! "Flex time” was offered in the summers (Memorial Day thru Labor Day) - if you logged 40+ hours & completed your work, you could leave as early as Noon on Friday. The EnjoyIt team did an excellent job with events -- sporting events, picnics, ice cream & coffee trucks, seasonal & holiday celebrations, give-backs, and more. Benefits and pay weren't very competitive, but the amount of holidays, PTO, and wellness reimbursements were nice to have.

Cons

In my first month working here, we were asked by internal teams to give positive reviews on Glassdoor to mitigate the bad press they had been receiving. This never sat well with me, as I needed more time to form an honest opinion. That was my first sign of there being a troublesome work environment. For as many great employees there were to work with, there were just as equal the opposite. It was often said that the team was like a "family," but it was more of a facade, not quite as comforting as you are expected to believe. Their belief of "1440" was honestly motivational, but unfortunately felt rare in execution. The company may be flexible, but they have no issue overworking you. It is exciting that the company is growing at an exponential rate, but management is very hesitant to hire more employees to complement such, which drives down morale. Internal promotion also feels scarce. Events were always a fun escape, but on a typical day, communication lacked between teams, making it difficult to perform efficiently. Inclusion of some sort of ERP system would definitely help alleviate this, as well as creation of proper training materials & procedures. Currently absent, it was difficult to prevent errors from repeating across the teams.

Hello, Thank you for leaving such a detailed review of Common Sail Investment Group. We love to hear that you really enjoyed the team, our culture committee, company events, flex time, PTO, flexibility, and other benefits. We are disappointed that your entire experience working with us was not a positive one and we would like to address some of the concerns you highlighted in your review. We are always encouraging employees to leave us feedback on their work experience via Glassdoor and Indeed, as some people feel more comfortable leaving anonymous feedback instead of going directly to their leader. Having said that, each employee can choose to leave a review or not leave a review - the choice is theirs. Our culture of "1440" is aspirational and we work to get better at making the best moments for our team every day. We agree that we are a quickly growing company and that there are occasional pain points associated with growth, but we also know the importance of finding the best people to help our team grow and that doesn't always happen overnight. As an organization, we always try to promote from within and nearly our entire leadership team at our home office all started in our communities. We are committed to constantly getting better and we can only do that with feedback like yours. We think discussing your experience with us directly would be extremely valuable and would encourage you to reach out to Pam Hayes at (810) 220-2655. We really appreciate the time you took to help guide us and thank you for the opportunity to improve.
