Pros

Working school hours was great.

Cons

Low pay, lack of training, outdated system, paper files, mistreatment by those actually employed by the school, left hanging with no sense of direction, 100 students on caseload, terrible benefits. You'll make more at a warehouse. You'll do better being patient and applying to the ISD's.

Pros

Working on a campus with the students and building those relationships with them, watching their progress, and removing barriers for Title I students is such a rewarding and fufilling apart of the job. The amount of PTO and flexibility are great also.

Cons

Where do I start? Going into this job CIS will sell you the dream of 'doing an amazing work as a non-profit' but you will quickly realize you are about to be underpaid, overworked, exploited and undersupported. As a PM, you can get guidance from your PD about how your campus culture is run but as far as thorough training and clear expectations of how you are supposed to run your program: THERE IS NONE. You are expected to set a campus plan and be able to follow it with little to no budget and expected to get everything donated. Then, all the PD's care about is the paperwork and data (which is completely unnecessary and redundent) You are expected to document every interaction with every student, case manage 78 students, record all their grades, attendance, behavior, every 6 weeks. It is exhausting and does not match the pay grade. Also, you are at the mercy whether your principal likes you or not. My admin was the pettiest, nasty group of admin ever and my PD KNEW THAT!! My PD also knew how disorganized my campus was and that admin was actively making it impossible for me to do my job and still did not have my back whatsoever. Completely would recommend you do not work for this wolf disguised as a sheep company.

Pros

The students and my team were amazing! Loved my job. The work is very impactful and rewarding.

Cons

The pay is terribly low for all the hard work you do especially when you have a Masters Degree. There is also not a lot of room for growth.
