Pros

Hire within the company. Great benefits. Help with obtaining an BCBA

Cons

Very low pay compared to a lot of other companies Case Mangers/ Supervisors don't communicate well with Therapist. Supervisor abuse the power will write you up for being on time and showing up the same time as you do.

Pros

STAR offers extremely high quality behavioral intervention services to children with ASD. I went into this job having never heard of ABA and learned every single detail about naturalistic play therapy through the intensive training and very helpful supervisors. I felt well respected by the families and supervisors who were open to my feedback and provided me helpful constructive criticism, which allowed me to grow professionally. And I LOVED some of the children/families dearly!

Cons

It can feel isolating to work alone without coworkers. Since STAR had recently moved to the Bay when I began, there was a lack of social activities inside or outside of work, which offered minimal opportunities to connect with others in a job that can be intense at times. Also, there is not guaranteed work for you to do if a client cancels on a session so sometimes you are left with huge breaks in your schedule and less pay that week.

Pros

Some good kids, real world experience

Cons

Getting abused by children, no ongoing training or meetings with supervisor, canceled sessions that lead to not getting paid
