Pros

There are very few competitors, the company created a market for investors who need tax credits. Properties sustain economies in low and middle class communities. Portfolio Operations Managers know their properties and residents well.

Cons

A former employee who had 7 years of experience told me that the company sets people up to fail, which I also believe is true. I turned down a competitive job offer to work at TCB and think it was the worst decision that I ever made. The unusually high turnover rate is a reflection of how little the company cares about its people. Despite the façade of a mission oriented non-profit, I was confronted with some radical leftist opinions that made me question whether or not some of the people I was working with at the corporate office knew anything about being a resource for underserved communities. The company seems to have become an expert at perverting well intentioned employees and advancing the agendas of self serving individuals.

I'm sorry that your experience to date has been so negative. If you are still with TCB and would be willing to talk with a member of the HR team in private about your experience, please reach out so that we can speak further about this and learn more. We are interested in hearing employee concerns and frustrations and looking at how to make TCB a better place to work for all employees.

Pros

great mission in affordable housing

Cons

Senior management unable to execute nor motivate employees. Memebers of the leadership team lack leadership skills and they are ruining the company. Too many consultants. surveys, offsites and nothing gets done for the employees. The company is spiraling down out of control with vendors screaming for payment, key bills not being paid and employees get strung along.

We are sorry that you had such a negative experience. We do take the actions of our leaders very seriously. We also want to create a culture where employees feel they can reach out and discuss with HR and/or senior leadership if there is inappropriate behavior of any sort. I'm sorry that we let you down in that commitment if you didn't feel you could make that call. If you are still with the organization I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you further. I agree that leadership is critical to the success of any organization. Over the past 18 months we have spent more time on trying to create a stronger leadership development program that will allow us to better train and support both current and potential leaders within the organization. We are committed to trying to promote from within whenever possible in order to retain great talent and build greater expertise within the organization.
