Pros

Decent pay, if you negotiate properly. Promote from within. Some depts are better than others.

Cons

Poor communication. No transparency into what the goals and future is of the organization or how your role fits into that. Lack of interest by upper management, directors and vps in their full time employees, more vested interest in their contractors. A lot of politics and favoritism and incompetent executives in positions they should not be in. No desire to support staff and are very quick to sell out their own employees or pass the buck in order to avoid blame from business partners. Very poor relationships and communications between depts, too many politics causing unnecessary confusion and barriers. Some vps are only concerned w/quantity not quality of projects. Rush rush rush. High turnover among FTEs in certain depts due to lack of work, opportunities for advancement and work being given to contractors instead who are paid flights, hotel, expenses and salary to come to corporate weekly when there are FTE's that can do the exact same job. Wasting money constantly. No training whatsoever, no support, help or guidance from directors. Just thrown to the wolves. Poor planning across the whole organization and too much red tape to get a decision made. Giving contractors new projects where they learn new technology and then ultimately leave to get more pay when FTE's should be given these opportunities.

Pros

No Career Development. No Merit Raise. Anonymous and opaque compensation levels. Do not expect more than an annual 1.5% 'cola' raise. No merit raise, ever. C-Level staff routinely grants themselves annual salary bumps of over 10%.

Cons

Worst Company to work for in Nashville. This Company has a reputation for poor employee morale, extremely cheap, difficult to do business with and for the poor way they treat Staff. The executive management routinely receives massive levels of compensation while employees receive nothing. There is Zero career development and the turnover rate of the Company is 50%. Nobody stays because the only people who get paid are the CEO and other executives.

Pros

Many highly skilled professional co-workers, nearly all who have left CHS for better working conditions.

Cons

Unsafe equipment the management refuses to fix. Absolutely demoralizing management methodology rewarding only themselves and berating much of the best patient care staff they had. Company appears to get rid of employees who may begin to show any health difficulties related to overwork. "Employee Assistance program" is a total sham. Overwhelming workload on patient care staff with extreme pressure and insistence that no matter the workload there is to be no overtime, but must finish all work. Work at CHS only at extreme personal liability peril.
