Pros
The money is good. But the top 1% get most of the training\travel budget for the group.
Cons
This IT department needs to have a united concept of goals, processes and management. Everyone is tracking metrics ,overlapping and in different programs, no group depository of shared vital information. With every new management member added, another layer of directions and goals. After 2 years, too many management changes, I said ,"Enough!"and moved on.
