Pros

Great opportunity for contractors to rack in the money since management changes direction like a squirrel in a pile of nuts. I gave one star since there were no negative stars to give. Otherwise it be a - 5 stars.

Cons

Most managers are lazy and clueless when it comes to doing what matters for building well respected organizations. Projects are always late and over budget. Security and Engineering from the VPN down have cultimated a culture of head in the sand, deny and interfere as well as save money on business critical needs and support til escalated to CIO. The CIO is a mental case as well as many of the top leadership. There's no reason to keep this leadership employed and there should be a wholesale leadership restructuring from the top down. Replacing the incompetent CIO, Directors and VP'so would just be the start. This company has the absolute worst reputation for poorly treating employees, contractors and faculties' staff. This company is ripe for a class action lawsuit. Just as they were ripe to let hackers walk away with 4.5 million patient records. Nice job Security leadership. .. BTW it will happen again since no one is being held accountable and volunteers from the community were leadershipso solution to addresting the massive influx of complaints.

Terrible Place to Work!!

Pros

The people I work with are nice.

Cons

Where to start.... The company has zero respect for it's employees. They act as though they own you and try to dictate all of your time, even past your required 40 hours. There is an over abundance of work due to continued acquisitions, yet they wonder why the work is not getting done, and mandate overtime to attempt to complete it, even on Saturdays with less than a weeks notice. The upper management gets hefty paychecks while the common employee makes nowhere near what they should. There is no support to employees who have outside ambitions or goals. It's like they are jealous that you could potentially do something other than slave for CHS. There are a lot of questionable accounting practices as well which they rationalize with a bunch of big words and changes of conversation. Nothing is planned ahead, and they just expect you to be able to figure out at the last minute. This is an awful place to work and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

Pros

You will receive a paycheck at below market salary, half of which will go to the dress code requirements.

Cons

The CEO has been voted 'Nashville's Most Overpaid' several years and shareholders voted down executive salary by a 2:1 margin due poor performance and executive pay which were not aligned for the interest of shareholders. Employees are consistently told there is no money in the budget for a raise yet the top brass continues to rake it in hand over fist. Do not expect to be valued, if you are 'promoted' it will be in title only and you will receive a max of 7% raise even if the new position is one which pays 100% more. The company paid a $100 million dollar fine to the U.S DOJ for fraudulent over-billing practices without admitting fault even though the lawsuit is pretty clear on what went down. The dress code is ridiculous and many employees shop at good will or otherwise they could not afford it. The department infighting is scary and it seems everyone, including bloated middle management, are deathly afraid so they just blame everything on anyone else. No career advancement potential. Nepotism is rampant and the top brass often employees their kin at the org's hospitals as admin. specialists out of grad school so they can slip into a hospital CEO position making six figures. In fact, the internship program exists only for exec's to hire their kin. Also the Company avoids paying taxes on equipment to the 'affiliated' hospitals by purchasing it buy a Cayman island company (Community Insurance Group - CIG) and then leasing it to the facilities. This way they get around state and federal taxes. Patient care is not a priority at this company and our health benefits are some of the worse I've seen despite being a health care firm.
