The benefits package is not as appealing as it should be considering that most people think that healthcare jobs have the best benefit packages when that couldn't be further from the truth. Our facility is continually under staffed people in our department are all working 6-7 days a week for months on end with no change in sight. we have been promised that they will post positions soon for hiring but that never happens. There is no appreciation for all that we do, the occasional "thank you, your great!" in a mass email doesn't really mean a whole lot. There was nothing done for hospital week to show that they are grateful for the hard work we put in. Rules only apply for some people and even when there are major literal life threatening mistakes that get made they get covered up and swept under the rug. we are paid dollars less an hour than that of the lowest national average for a hospital with our bed size. Upper management does not hear our concerns and it always goes in one ear and out the other. Many people at our facility have to shuttle by bus to work taking up and extra 30 minutes if not more a day going from the bus to the hospital that they are not compensated for. We even have employees that have been with our facility for 25 years are more are leaving. We cant keep good help and turnover is ridiculous.
