Pros

I felt like my application materials were truly reviewed by a person knowledgeable in the content and, thus, fully invested in finding a suitable candidate. The interview process included an introduction, multiple 1:1 conversations, and a final panel presentation. I felt respected and seen as a person from start to finish rather than just an applicant to be screened. My experience felt genuine and transparent. I enjoyed the focus on cultural fit and alignment with Commure's mission and values; in particular, it was good to feel like my expertise was an asset while also being reminded that the team wants everyone to have a listening and growth mindset (i.e., we can learn from each other). I'm currently onboarding. The process was organized from the offer to the first week. I received all my equipment ahead of the first day and a generous welcome box! Onboarding activities were well balanced and focused on an appropriate ramp-up. I was able to participate in 1:1 intros, small group intros, and a company-wide meeting. The consistency and overlap between intro content have been great and much appreciated.

Cons

As with any startup, the offer package is limited to a few things; however, in my opinion, it is competitive and worthwhile for where they are at as a company.

Pros

- Great benefits (e.g. top notch health insurance, lots of food back when offices were open) - Substantial PTO culture (i.e. "unlimited PTO" actually does mean quite a bit of PTO) - Well structured, multidisciplinary teams ("pods"), plenty of opportunity to work on different things throughout the course of a year - Extremely experienced leadership - unusually so for such an early stage company - Working in an industry (healthcare tech) that can have unequivocally positive impact on the world, in a way that scales massively (enabling more healthcare tech companies to exist) - Friendly, warm culture of people; and still a high bar for talent

Cons

Transitioning away (in mid 2020) from the founding CTO running the company was painful, and upset some tenured employees. But the company has since (now early 2021) found its footing, effectively prioritized employee happiness, replaced a brief period of employee churn with a slew of impressive leadership hires from the likes of Dropbox, Carbon Black, Cloudflare, Salesforce, etc.
