Pros

Great Mission, Good people, Remote work depending on how you look at it. Very flexible in terms of PTO and getting stuff done in your personal life.

Cons

Remote work can be isolating, Management is not very organized and is constantly changing - a bit chaotic.

Thank you for your feedback. At Compassion, we are continually working to improve our support and connection for remote employees which are spread across 30 countries and 47 states within the United States… a challenge for sure. Regarding the comments on management, we want to highlight that Compassion has a very stable base of over 100 senior leaders who are dedicated to our mission around the world. The average tenure of our Global Executive Team stands at 17 years with Compassion. At the same time, our ministry has more than doubled in size over the last ten years, and sometimes our supporting systems lag in their development which at times can feel chaotic. Maturing our operations is a significant present focus of our leaders as we see it critical to realize our strategic intent of scaling the ministry to advance life-outcomes with more children and youth more quickly. Also, while we enjoy stable leadership, we fully support when God deploys and redeploys leaders from one ministry to another. In recent times, we have welcomed and supported multiple senior leaders joining Compassion, as well as a few who have moved on to other ministries. This dynamic leadership movement is part of our commitment to growth and adaptability. We are also encouraged by our overall voluntary turnover rate, which is less than 6%—roughly a third of the voluntary turnover in the not-for-profit sector, which stands at 19%. Additionally, our engagement scores have remained strong over time, reflecting our ongoing efforts to foster a positive and supportive work environment. We appreciate your insights and are committed to making Compassion an even better place to work.
