Ability to gain hardware experience and/or gain technical support experience for those just entering the field. It's a foot in the technology door.

Cons

Depending on which project you are on - there is no opportunity to think outside of the box. For one project in particular, you have limited to what kind of technical support you can provide. Also no one cares about anything. People are unhappy because they haven't gotten raises in several years.
