Pros

I was able to learn about an aspect of IT that I didn't know about before. My experience in the companies that computer care had me contracted out to looked great on my CV

For the past few days I’ve been going back and forth on whether I should write this review or not. Originally I decided that I wasn’t going to bother burning bridges on the way out, but after hearing about some snide and bitter comments made toward myself and other ex-employee by our old manager I thought that this review is deserved. I worked in one of ComputerCare’s remote sites for about 9 months. We didn’t really have any management staff in our office so we were managed, no micromanaged, from HQ which was 8 time zones away and although the distance wasn’t their fault they didn’t try to make it any easier. We would receive constant criticism from management about all aspects of our job. We used to joke when we came in the morning about how many passive aggressive emails we had received the night before and who had the most. When management did come over to see us though they were all smiles about how great we doing and to keep up the good work but they never asked us how we were doing or if there was any way they could make our lives a little bit easier. I remember once, when our VP came over, I hadn’t seen this person in a long time and I sat down for a one to one and she literally said ‘I have no feedback for you’ that's it, nothing. I never felt that they cared about me as a person, the just cared about the work I could do.

Executive team is smart and compassionate. They care about their employees and show it. New ideas are quickly implemented if they make sense. Low turnover, and a highly skilled team of professionals. Great growth potential.

Cons

Communication with remote site employees could be improved.

Pros

ComputerCare has changed significantly in the past few years. When I first started with the company it was focused on computer hardware support in the SF Bay Area. The service offerings have now grown to include IT managed services, and the locations have expanded nation-wide, and in Europe. I enjoy going to work. There are always new things to learn, and other tasks to help with. I never feel bored, and enjoying jumping in and helping out throughout all of the departments. Management is supportive of cross training company-wide.
