You only get a pay raise if you get promoted.

The biggest disappointment of working here was the salary. It started great, and over the years it dwindled. Low earnings overall meant no increases. Low earnings in other departments meant no increases even for those departments that met/exceeded their goals. Promised bonuses that were then walked back, because of lower-than-expected company quarter-end earnings. Plus, no opportunities for advancement in your department. Layoffs that were done piecemeal, 2 people here, 1 person there, rather than just ripping off the bandage and letting them go at once, so the rest of the team knew they were secure.
