Pros

Great coworkers to have on your team.

Cons

There is truly nothing good to say about working for this company. The system is broken, we are being asked to chase our own money/commission because we are not being paid properly. The company is over promising and under delivering to their customers. The morale is beyond low.

Since 1982, we’ve connected customers with technology to enhance growth, elevate productivity, and empower innovation. Throughout the years, Connection has been recognized for performance excellence and continued trust as evident in the commendations from leading business publications and our partner community. Each award received reflects the hard work of our valued colleagues and their desire to exceed expectations. 2020 has not been without its challenges. We welcome opportunities to identify and discuss those areas in need of improvement. We will continue to translate problems into practical solutions for the benefit of the organization and the employee population. Terrible work environment

Pros

Flexibility to work from home.

Cons

The executive team are micro managers. The morale is terrible, Salaries are extremely low, many employees work 2 jobs. Managers bully direct reports instead of listening to their real struggles. When reports are made to HR, the offender is often given a pass and the victim is provided with an excuse and unauthentic apology. The work environment is negative and extremely stressful without many accolades.

It’s disheartening to hear an account manager state they experience a “terrible work environment”. Not only is sales leadership tasked with developing a sales organization that is responsive to the needs of our customers, they are charged with exemplifying organizational harmony. It’s important that employees have a clear understanding of the business objectives and their responsibilities relative to achieving those expectations. By design, sales departments have an emphasis on results. Our sales management team establishes realistic and attainable sales goals based on tenure. Base line metrics not only establish accountability throughout the sales organization, but they provide valuable insight for business and staffing operations. Additionally, account managers are provided with the necessary resources to achieve success in attaining results. While it may be a performance oriented environment, in our opinion, it’s a collaborative, friendly atmosphere where there is a balance between reinforcement, results and rewards. One of the most notable rewards is the total compensation. In addition to a base salary and comprehensive benefit offering, account managers are eligible for commissions, bonuses and special incentive programs. While the particulars of the employee investigation are not known, trust that fostering a work environment of mutual respect is of utmost importance to Connection. Employees are expected to conduct Company business with integrity while exercising good judgment and common sense in their interaction with colleagues. We genuinely respect and value our employees. If any employee experiences to the contrary, they are encouraged to engage a member of the management team and/ or a Human Resources Business Partner.

What a mess

Pros

Starting with 3 weeks of vacation and co-workers

Cons

I can't speak for the whole of Connection, but as far as the Wilmington branch of Connection is concerned... What a mess. The Configuration Lab is an honest joke. You have to wonder how the place is still functional. Management is focusing on customer acquisition while the workers are still struggling with the current workload. We worked 3 months straight on mandatory 10 hour shifts and most of those weeks included mandatory Saturday shifts as well. A customer is not a concern until they're afraid they are going to leave and go somewhere else. Our equipment for a tech company is so outdated it's actually insane and when you ask for better equipment you just get some awful excuse or blank promise. We use workstations from the Windows Vista era using DDR2 RAM. It's honestly such a shame because when I first started it wasn't this bad. But it seems management is lost. They keep asking questions but it's getting them nowhere. Their answer is to hire more people, and we have 4 new people to every 1 person that knows what they are doing and it's impossible to keep track of who's doing what. There are "Senior Technicians" that should know what they are doing making the majority of our plethora of customer issues and are the least productive workers we have.
