If you keep your supervisors informed of your goals, they encourage and help you gain the knowledge needed to reach those goals. Like any other employer though, you are responsible for yourself. Management won't come to you with opportunities. You need to keep your eyes and ears open because there are A LOT of exciting things happening here.
